Bow Windows
A bow window is a type of window that protrudes from the exterior wall of a building and has multiple panels that curve outward. The bow window is a beautiful addition to any home and can provide a panoramic view of the outdoors. This type of window is also a great way to let in natural light and add a touch of elegance to your home.
Bespoke Bow Windows
Bow windows have a larger centre window with two narrow windows on either side but bow windows are made of four or more similarly sized glass that helps create a curved effect.
Bow windows typically range in size from about four to 13 feet wide. They are usually made with fixed panes that do not move. Bay windows are usually flat and often made with a single large window, though some designs are made with multiple windows
Bow windows require more space than bays because they are wider. It combines over four casement windows to form a rounded arch and work best in exterior walls or corners with 80 inches or more of space. To allow more light into the room, bow windows have more panes of glass and fewer supporting features between the panes than other types of windows.
Difference between Bay and Bow Windows
Bay windows and bow windows are uniquely different but they share similarities and that’s why they are put in the same category. They both make a style statement in any home and add elegance to the building. Simply put, they are the perfect way to bring a sense of grandeur to your home as well as provide additional natural lighting.
They both protrude from the wall in the exterior with angled glass configurations, have multiple panes and create a more spacious feel. Both window styles combine fixed and operable windows that help maximize interior space as they angle out beyond the exterior walls.
Generally, protruding windows are called bay windows, regardless of their curved or angular designs. A bay window may be rectangular, polygonal, or arc-shaped. Bow windows, on the other hand, protrude outwardly in a curvy style. They bow out from the building in a 180-degree curve like someone has blown a bubble from within.
